Have you or someone you know been scammed online?

More than 1 in 4 Americans have been targeted by online fraud, harassment, or exploitation.

But most don’t talk about it — and even fewer get help.

That's Why We Created
Cyber Collective

A grassroots movement making people Internet Street Smart.

Online safety feels confusing, inaccessible, and out of touch.
Basic cybersecurity education is locked behind paywalls.
Most support is written in language no one understands.
And too many people feel ashamed for not knowing how to protect themselves.

75%

of people say they should be doing more to protect themselves online.

$440M

was lost to cybercrime in New York last year alone.

27,205

cybercrime victims were reported in New York State alone last year.

We give people the tools to stay safe — and help others do the same.

Cyber Collective gives people the tools, language, and support to stay safe online. Our work is built with and for the communities most impacted by online harm — not dropped in from the top down.

Free Course

Internet Street Smarts

Our flagship digital safety program — co-created with 50+ volunteers.

Interactive Learning Spaces

Online & In Person Workshops

Hands-on workshops that bring our tools to life — hosted in schools, libraries, and local community spaces.

Self-Guided Support

Free Database of

Tools & Resources

We’ve created over 150 free resources to help you navigate digital life with confidence — no tech degree required.

From scam-spotting guides and password journals to workshop slides and conversation starters, everything we make is designed to be clear, accessible, and actually useful. Whether you're a student, caregiver, teacher, or community organizer, you’ll find tools that meet you where you are — and help you protect the people you love.

Community Partnership Model

Train-the-Trainer

We’re equipping trusted community leaders to teach ISS and other tools their way. This model helps us scale safely, sustainably, and locally — so digital safety becomes a neighborhood skill, not just a personal one.

The People Behind the Numbers

Meet Magdalene.

She’s in her 60s. A widow. Living in Queens. Still full of life.

Looking for connection, she joined a dating app. She met someone who sent her poetry, talked about their future, and slowly gained her trust. Over six months, she sent him $7,000.

Then — he vanished.

Magdalene isn’t an anomaly.

She’s one of thousands who experience cybercrime not just as financial loss, but as emotional trauma.

Research shows that cybercrime victims experience anxiety, PTSD, and shame on par with survivors of violent crime.

Most people never report what happened. They blame themselves. And they’re left without tools, language, or community to process the harm.

This is why Cyber Collective exists — to make sure Magdalene, and everyone like her, is never
alone again.
